The most incredible vintage runway dress by Alexander McQueen from his Fall Winter 2004 collection titled “Pantheon ad Lucem’ (Towards the Light). This elegant dress was look number 12.
This rare and iconic vintage dress is made of a peach crepe jersey and has beautiful silk ties that cross the neckline and wrap around the body. This elegant runway dress is both exceptional and wearable and it is an amazing example of Lee Alexander McQueen’s craftsmanship. The construction is truly incredible, it is cut on the bias, the silk ties are hand-sewn in, it drapes perfectly on the body and certainly has a 1930’s influence.
According to Lee McQueen this runway show focused on the purity of design, manufacture and execution, as opposed to theatrics, however the show was nevertheless still quite a spectacle. The aesthetics of the set were beautiful with a futuristic narrative inspired by science fiction - the models styled alien-like and otherworldly. “The show explores the idea of new beginnings,”said Lee Alexander McQueen of his FW2004 runway presentation.
This extraordinary dress is a piece of history and a true collectors item <3

Alexander McQueen was a British fashion designer who is known for his highly original designs, precise tailoring as well as his huge theatrical runway shows which were inspired by theatre, performance art and history. He left school at 16 and took on an apprenticeship at Saville Row which would inform his career and style - McQueen kept the tradition but broke all the rules.
He studied at St Martins College and his graduate collection gained him extensive press coverage, and was purchased in its entirety by the influential fashion stylist Isabella Blow. McQueen launched his own label in 1992 and was appointed head designer at Givenchy in 1996, after John Galliano.
McQueen poured raw emotion into his work and together with his fascination with history, innovation and creativity he is regarded as one of the most revolutionary designers of the 20th century.
